Kristen's Platform

Miami Beach is at a tipping point in terms of crime and violence. We must employ a zero tolerance policy and begin to enforce all of our laws, like open containers, noise, and public drug consumption, and shut down businesses like tattoo parlors, package liquor stores, and vape shops that add to our "anything goes" party atmosphere. Business that that encourage "this party" should lose their priviledge

City Hall must mobilize all of its departments: public works, police, fire, code compliance, communications, legal, and transportation toward the goal of cleaning up South Beach and restoring public safety. 

 As a City, this must be our NUMBER ONE priority.

Miami Beach is a small island community, and while progress is great, we cannot overbuild to the point where we live in gridlock.  Miami Beach has approved thousands of new hotel rooms and condominiums, and we must build what has already been approved before we add more density.

Kristen pledge's to control density and be a true steward and protector of the Public Trust. She will never sell public land. 

Public land should remain in public hands!

As the planet heats up, the seas are rising, and Miami Beach's biggest challenge is to mitigate sea level rise on our small barrier island. The City must fund and complete infrastructure projects to protect property values, ensure continued insurance coverage,  and retain positive municipal bond ratings. 

Miami Beach needs a rebranding and a professional, cutting-edge marketing campaign to attract serious conventions and more family tourism. Kristen will work with City staff to develop an improved brand strategy so that Miami Beach is not only known as a "Party Central--anything goes destination". This is essential to restore resident quality of life in South Beach. 

The Coast Guard must do something about the 63rd Street Bridge, which is constantly open and stopping traffic on 63rd Street. There are commercial party-cruisers abusing the Indian Creek Waterway, and our local government is doing nothing to regulate these businesses. Kristen promises to work with the Coast Guard to set a bridge schedule, and regulate party boats that are blocking traffic. Thousands of residents should not suffer because of unregulated cruising commercial party boats. 

No issue is too small for Kristen. Her office will have an open door policy and everyone will receive equal attention, no matter how big or small the issue.
